| Lily: | How late is James now? |
| Sirius: | Two and a half hours. |
| Lily: | How did this happen? I had Marlene wake him up at eight and pretend it was eleven. |
| Remus: | I gave him that fake schedule that said we were starting at nine instead of noon. |
| Peter: | Oh, and I set all his watches and clocks to say PM when it's really AM. |
| Lily: | Oh boy, we may have overdone it. |
| James: | What the hell time is it!? |
| Luna: | Have fun! Are you gonna be back in time to help me setup for the party? |
| Draco: | That’s boyfriend stuff. Boyfriends arrive early and do all the boring stuff that no one else wants to do, like getting ice, or this conversation. |
“Hey Pads?” Remus looked up at Sirius from where he sat, nestled into Sirius’s side, held in place by the slender arm draped around him, gentle fingers playing with the exposed skin at the small of his back.
“Hmm?” Sirius lowered his gaze to meet Remus’s, his eyelashes casting long shadows across his cheeks.
“You said you wanted to ask me something earlier?”
“Oh, yeah,” Sirius’s voice is somewhat groggy and Remus realises he had been drifting off to sleep in their second hand couch. “Sit up,” Sirius lifts his arm so Remus can sit up. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a little box, the kind you get cufflinks in.
“Presents and questions?” Remus’s mouth curves up into a smile “what are you up to, Black?” And now it’s Sirius’s turn to smile.
“Remus, I wanted to ask you… Did you… Uh… I know I’m not the greatest… But uh…” Remus laughs quietly and kisses his cheek.
“You are the greatest, you goof, now what’s going on?”
And Sirius opens the box, inside is a silver band with leaves engraved on it.
“My moony… Will you marry me?” Remus is staring at the ring, and the engravings seemed to move. He cant seem to find the right words and raises a slightly shaking hand to cup Sirius’s face before kissing him gently; murmuring “yes between kisses. Sirius pulls away and takes Remus’s hand in his, pulling the ring from the box and putting it on Remus’s finger, where it belonged; his hands shaking with exhilaration which causes Remus to laugh.
“What a pair we make, eh?” Remus mutters after kissing his *fiance* again, his forehead pressing to Sirius’s and their hands intertwined.
“The werewolf and the runaway, sounds kind of perfect to me,”
They sat in blissful silence for what seemed like an eternity.
“I’m actually kind of surprised,” Remus eventually said.
“Aw, come on, you knew this was coming,” Sirius rolls his eyes and Remus cracks a grin.
“Yeah, I guess but I mean the delivery. No fireworks? No expensive restaurant? There aren’t even any candles, better watch it Black, your dramatics are slipping in your old age,”
“You younglings these days dont appreciate the gentle moments, if something doesn’t explode, your generation isn’t interested,”
“How did you say that with a straight face?”
“Darling, nothing about my face is straight,”

jane austen was so lit because she wrote about men the way men typically write about women i.e. her stories just centered around women and men were only there for the sake of women, and her books could have been all bitter and sad about the state of women in that century, but instead they’re sweet honest observational stories of friendship, family and love *sighs* what a lady i am sorry i ever doubted you cos I was bored in high school
